In your college prep class, one of your students happens to be the football team's star quarterback. The team has done very well so far, and has already clinched the 1st seed in the playoffs by the beginning of November. Although the quarterback has excelled on the football team, he hasn't put forth nearly as much effort in your class and is currently failing with a 45% average. He does not have any behavior issues in your class, but fails to complete assignments on time and it's very clear he does not study for the tests. As the first quarter ends in mid-November, the Coach of the team approaches you pleading to give him a passing grade, allowing him to be eligible for the remainder of the season.
